Terms & Conditions

Last updated: [DD/MM/YYYY]. These terms govern your use of this app and your membership in any group or plan run through it.

Draft — have this reviewed by a legal professional before publishing.

1. Who we are

This service is operated by [Organisation / committee name], [address], contactable at [email / phone] (“we”, “us”, the “organiser”). “You” means any registered user.

2. Nature of the service

We provide administration and record-keeping for community Bachat Committee (BC / chit) savings groups and community savings plans. We are not a bank, NBFC, payment system operator, deposit-taking institution or SEBI-registered investment adviser or product provider. No amount held or recorded here is insured.

All payments are made directly between you and the organiser's UPI account. The app records and confirms payments; it does not hold, transmit or escrow money.

3. Registration and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate details, including a mobile number you control. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Registering does not make you a member of any group or plan.

4. Joining a group or plan

Membership begins only when the organiser approves your join request. On approval you accept the group's written schedule: pool amount, number of members, cycle duration, bid day, payment due day, minimum bid increment, late fee per day and the monthly minimum/maximum loss range.

5. Contributions, bidding and late fees

  • Installments are due by 11:59 PM IST on the group's due day, in Indian Rupees.
  • The monthly bid winner is the member accepting the largest permitted loss; the resulting installment for other members is recalculated and published in the app.
  • Late fees accrue per day from the group's configured start day. The organiser may waive or adjust a late fee at their discretion; every adjustment is recorded.
  • You remain liable for all installments for the full cycle, including after you have received the pool.

6. Savings plans

Plan contributions, duration, maturity date, bonus or return rate, minimum/maximum contribution and early-withdrawal terms are stated on each plan page. Any return is funded by the organiser or group and is not paid from other members' contributions. Projections are illustrative, labelled projected, and not guaranteed. Plan terms may be changed prospectively with notice.

7. Exit and termination

Leaving a group before its cycle ends requires the organiser's agreement and clearance of outstanding dues, per the group's rules. We may suspend or terminate an account for repeated non-payment, misuse, fraud or misrepresentation. Records may be retained as required for accounting and dispute resolution.

8. Disputes

Raise disputes in writing to the organiser, who will respond within [X] working days. Decisions affecting the group will be published in the group notice feed. These terms are governed by the laws of India, with courts at [city] having jurisdiction. Nothing here limits your statutory rights.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for the default of another member, or for failures of UPI, banking or telecom services. Our role is limited to administering and recording the arrangement as described.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the updated version will be published on this page with a new “last updated” date and announced in the notice feed. Continued use after that date means acceptance.
